Jamie Butterworth
Jamie Butterworth is a Southern California-based painter working primarily in oil and acrylic. Her artistic practice, which began in 2010, emerged from a background in creative careers spanning marketing, advertising, and product development. These disciplines cultivated her eye for composition and narrative before she ever picked up a paintbrush.
A longtime advocate for arts education, Jamie served as Arts Chair at her daughters' elementary school, where she developed comprehensive visual and performing arts programs. Her dedication to arts access earned her Volunteer of the Year recognition from the Burbank Arts for All Foundation in 2014. She has been teaching art for 11 years and was recognized as the 2024 Best of Burbank for Kids' Art Classes.
Since 2024, Jamie has brought her teaching practice to the high seas, teaching art on luxury cruise ships. She has designed unique, port-specific lesson plans while traveling to dozens of countries throughout Southeast Asia, the Eastern Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and on specialized voyages including a D-Day commemoration cruise in the English Channel and a transatlantic crossing. Her teaching approach makes art accessible and engaging for students at every level, from beginning painters to seasoned professionals.
Jamie is past President and Vice President of the Burbank Art Association and currently serves as Programs Chair. Her work has been collected privately and she maintains an active practice exploring landscapes, bird studies, abstracts, and still life compositions. She is also an active volunteer with the Burbank Animal Shelter.
Jamie lives in Burbank with her husband and performs locally with her band, Jamie and The Silver Dollars. She believes that every person is an artist - it's simply a matter of finding what resonates.
